Bruno Fernandes' stance on new Man United contract revealed
Man United will accelerate new contract talks with Bruno Fernandes this season as he remains keen to pen fresh terms, sources have told Football Insider.
Fernandes entered the final year of his initial Red Devils contract in June following a standout campaign.
He picked up several individual awards for some consistently impressive performances last season, proving his worth as United's most important player.
United want to tie him down to a long-term contract in the coming months amid interest in his services from Turkey and Saudi Arabia.
As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, Fernandes wants to sign a new contract at Old Trafford as they plan talks soon.
The 31-year-old is believed to be United's second-highest earner, on a reported £300,000-per-week, but is set for a pay rise by signing an extension.

Sources have revealed to Football Insider that United plan to initially trigger the one-year extension built into Fernandes' current contract.
That will protect his value and tie him down until 2028, but they still plan to offer him a bigger contract following some impressive form over the last 12 months.
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "They'll be more than happy to sit down and discuss fresh terms with Fernandes, give him improved terms as well and extend his contract further, just to end any sort of ongoing speculation that he could be lured away from Old Trafford.
"Fernandes is happy at Manchester United and they are obviously very happy with him as he consistently producing the goods for them. I think it'll be a good move by United to tie him down to a new deal just to cement his long-term future at the club."

Sources told Football Insider on Deadline Day that United were pushing to sign Leicester star Page after weeks of chasing his services.
The 18-year-old broke into Leicester's squad last season and has remained a key player for Russell Martin in League One at the start of this campaign.
Even though they failed to get a move over the line before the summer window ended, reports have claimed that United remain in talks to sign the teenager in January.
He is a central midfielder who can also play as a number 10, and may well feature alongside Fernandes in the years to come if a deal can be agreed.
