Crystal Palace star should be Man United's transfer priority as price tag revealed
Ismaila Sarr's future at Crystal Palace is likely to remain uncertain until the summer transfer window slams shut in the Premier League.
It looked as though Pierre Sage was going to keep the rest of the players at Selhurst Park following the exits of Maxence Lacroix and Brennan Johnson.
However, Galatasaray emerged from out of the blue with a bid for the Senegalese winger, an offer which was swiftly rejected by the Eagles.
Manchester United had been tipped to make a move for the 28-year-old's signature earlier in the window, especially after his World Cup campaign.
No such move came to fruition at Old Trafford, but that doesn't mean there isn't time left for Michael Carrick to splash the cash.
The Red Devils certainly would have to push the boat out for the attacker, who bagged 21 goals last season, with Palace wanting £51m for him.
Man United to splash the cash for Ismaila Sarr
At the Theatre of Dreams, consistent game time might be difficult to come by, given the huge amount of competition on the wings.
Thanks to Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, Patrick Dorgu and Marcus Rashford, Sarr would certainly have to fight for his position.
However, with Carrick's side playing Champions League football in 2026-27, it doesn't seem like an opportunity he'd be able to turn down.
He even admitted earlier in his career that he followed United as a child, so the Eagles may struggle to keep hold of him if a late offer comes in.
Man United would certainly need to weigh up the finances behind the deal, with a total defensive reshuffle required, but adding him to the attack would be a no-brainer.
What has the Crystal Palace star said about Man United?
Sarr has already achieved his dream of playing in the Premier League, and the Champions League could be next for the 28-year-old forward.
"I used to like Manchester United. I always watched the Premier League more than any other league," he said back in 2020.
His four seasons at Watford is the longest he's spent at one club, and he's about to enter his third with the Eagles, who are in the midst of a total rebuild.
It would be a surprise if he was at Selhurst Park this time next year, especially if he has another fantastic season in South London.
