Man United to announce 'one big signing' - Stefan Borson
Michael Carrick is likely to welcome another huge addition to the Manchester United squad ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.
That is according to former Manchester City financial adviser Stefan Borson, who exclusively told Football Insider that Man United are "saving up" for a statement signing after doing two lesser deals.
The Red Devils have signed Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos on £35million and £48m deal, respectively, as well as Karl Darlow on a free transfer.
Multiple players have left as free agents, including highly paid Casemiro and Jadon Sancho, with more business expected at Old Trafford.
Following a great second half to the 2025-26 season, Man United once again qualified for Champions League football, finishing third in the Premier League table.
There is now a newfound hope at the Theatre of Dreams, and Carrick could be about to build the excitement even more during the summer window.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Borson believes that United will announce one "big" signing before the window closes, with enough money saved up to do so.
"The only issue is really whether that kind of approach can ultimately compete with the teams that are spending a lot more," he said.
"Traditionally, whilst you might have been able to get away with one or two very good bargains and good value deals, general spending hasn't worked for most of these teams, particularly on wage bill.
"There is that correlation. But I think likewise, United are probably saving up for a bigger purchase, one particularly big purchase between now and the close of the window.
"So they've got some powder left, and they seem to be sort of sequentially going through the squad."

There has been plenty of change at Old Trafford so far, and understandably so, with Carrick wanting to put more of his spin on the team.
He inherited the squad from Ruben Amorim, who's time in England was littered with mistakes and controversy, as well as some very poor results.
With Carrick at the wheel, however, according to one major bookmaker, United have a 6/1 chance of lifting the Premier League trophy next May.
Arsenal are favourites to reclaim the trophy at 6/4, while Man City are priced at 11/4 and Liverpool at 5/1, all ahead of the Red Devils.
