Julian Nagelsmann is being tipped to land a Premier League job this summer after Chelsea joined Manchester United in their pursuit, sources have told Football Insider.

Following their decision to sack Liam Rosenior, Chelsea are considering the Germany boss among a number of leading candidates to replace him.

Callum McFarlane has stepped in as the interim boss at Stamford Bridge until the end of the season, but they are eyeing a high-profile boss to take over.

However, as I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, there are doubts about whether Nagelsmann would take the Chelsea job.

That will come as a boost to the Red Devils, who are considering the 38-year-old as a top target to take over from Michael Carrick as Man United eye their next manager.

How does Julian Nagelsmann feel about the Chelsea job?

Former Man United assistant manager Mick Brown told Football Insider on 23 April that Chelsea's squad cannot be trusted, in a warning to their next manager.

Nagelsmann is believed to have doubts over whether the Chelsea job would be right for him as BlueCo close in on hiring a fifth manager since their takeover.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are also having doubts about hiring the Germany boss as they are reluctant to wait until after the World Cup before agreeing a deal.

Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "BlueCo will move on to their fifth manager since they've taken over, which is staggering really.

"There's been long-term interest in Julian Nagelsmann, the Germany coach, but I hear he's got reservations about taking the job.

"And again, I don't think Chelsea will be willing to wait until after the World Cup to bring in a new manager, they want to do it quickly.

"There'll be a number of candidates that the club are going to look at and evaluate, because they need to get this managerial appointment right.

"They can't keep chopping and changing managers because it'll just mean they keep falling behind their big rivals."

Could Nagelsmann become the next Man United manager?

Carrick has enjoyed a strong spell as the interim manager at Old Trafford, leading his side up to third in the Premier League table since arriving in January.

That has placed him in pole position to land the permanent job in the summer, but other candidates including Nagelsmann are also being considered.

Football Insider revealed last month that Nagelsmann is keen on the Man United job and would be open to taking over after the World Cup with Germany.

United's head of recruitment Christoph Vivell is a big fan of his, having worked closely alongside him during their time together at RB Leipzig.

However, similar to Chelsea's interest, there are question marks about whether United would be willing to wait until after the tournament to make an appointment.
