Tony Bloom hailed as Fabian Hurzeler told to reject Man United interest

Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler should not consider making the move to become Manchester United boss in the coming months.

That is according to former Everton chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, who believes that the German cannot take the "great machine" he works under at the Seagulls for granted.

This comes amid suggestions that the 33-year-old has plenty of admirers at Old Trafford, with Michael Carrick under ever-increasing scrutiny after a poor start.

However, Wyness is adamant that Hurzeler would not be working in such a stable environment if he did opt to move to the Red Devils.

The German was recently handed the Premier League's Manager of the Month award for September, after an unbeaten month that also saw his team beat Arsenal.

However, Wyness has no doubt that Hurzeler cannot start to believe the hype surrounding him at the moment, and must remain grounded at Brighton for now.

Fabian Hurzeler's success down to Brighton 'machine'

Everton’s former chief Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes that Hurzeler owes much of his recent success to the perfect environment that he works in at the Amex Stadium.

The Scottish businessman believes that if the former St. Pauli boss were to opt to move to United at all, then he would be taking a huge risk.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider's Inside Track podcast, Wyness explained why Hurzeler must keep his feet on the ground after his recent award.

"Well, Brighton are experts at this, aren't they? They're producing managers, then letting them go because they've got a very stable machine around them, and they plan succession extremely well," he said.

"The one who should be worried about this, I think, is Hurzeler. He can't start believing his own PR because he has got a great machine at Brighton behind him, and his success is a product, in my view, of that machine.

"Now, if he were to jump into Man United, I don't think there is such a stable machine, believe me, as there is at Brighton. And he may not have the same success and the same results.

"If I were him, I'd be staying at Brighton right now and enjoying the fruits of Tony Bloom's great machine and planning, succession and support.

"Brighton never have a fear of being able to move managers on or players on. They've always been that model, and they've done it so well, as we all know and talk about all the time.

"Be careful what you wish for if I were the manager. That jump might not be as easy as you think it might be and don't start believing your own PR."

Man United 'very keen' on Fabian Hurzeler

Man United 'very keen' on Hurzeler

Former United chief scout Mick Brown recently told Football Insider that his former club and Tottenham are both "very keen" on Hurzeler at the moment.

Carrick is under pressure at Old Trafford after a difficult start to the season, and they are already weighing up their potential options for their next move.

Brown is adamant that Hurzeler will be on the radar of all of European football's leading clubs at the moment, after some eye-catching work with Brighton.

The Seagulls are currently sitting third in the Premier League, having lost just one of their opening five league games.
