Sources: Man United plan to reject Amad Diallo offer after clubs make contact over deal
Man United have no plans to sell Amad Diallo after clubs registered their interest in his services following some impressive World Cup displays, sources have told Football Insider.
Diallo, 23, scored the winner for Ivory Coast in their opening World Cup game against Ecuador, then bagged a special solo goal against Norway on Tuesday.
The Ivorians were knocked out of the tournament after Erling Haaland's late strike, but Diallo emerged with several suitors following some standout showings.
AC Milan were one of the clubs believed to be tracking his services after recently appointing former Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim, while there has been other clubs getting in contact over a potential summer deal.
As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, United will not let him leave the club at any cost this summer as he is still a big part of Michael Carrick plans.
Carrick is not planning any major changes to his forward line this summer as Old Trafford chiefs focus on bolstering their midfield ranks.
Diallo struggled to shine throughout last season, but has shown over the last few weeks that he still has a lot to offer to United.
Amad Diallo will stay at Man United despite new transfer interest
Diallo only managed to register two goals and three assists in 33 appearances last season, as he played out of position at wing-back for half of the campaign under Amorim.
He became a regular starter on the right wing under Carrick towards the end of the season, and seems likely to keep his place as the Red Devils focus on signing a new left winger.
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "I'm sure those performances have attracted interest, but there's no willingness for Manchester United to sell Amad Diallo. They still see him as a long-term part of the plans at Old Trafford going forward.
"He has outlined his class at the World Cup with that stunning solo goal against Norway. I'm sure Manchester United would reject any approach for the Ivory Coast international."
What is the latest on United's pursuit of Crysencio Summerville?
Summerville has been identified as United's top target for the left wing spot this summer, following a strong individual campaign at West Ham.
Sources have revealed to Football Insider that United are extremely keen on Summerville after he registered seven goals and three assists in 34 games last season.
New reports have claimed that the two clubs are now in talks over a move for the Dutchman, who has also been starring at the World Cup.
While the sides are in direct contact, a move remains exploratory at this stage and any bid could be contingent on Marcus Rashford being sold.
