Morgan Gibbs-White is increasingly likely to stay at Nottingham Forest this summer despite interest from Manchester United, sources have told Football Insider.

The 26-year-old's performances at the City Ground this season have inspired interest from a number of top clubs who are keen to lure him away.

Recent goalscoring displays against Burnley and Sunderland have heightened that interest again, but there is a growing feeling he could stay at Forest.

As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, Nottingham Forest are increasingly confident of keeping Gibbs-White.

Should they remain in the Premier League, they plan to block his departure, and they are now in a strong position to do so in a blow to Man United's transfer plans.

Could Nottingham Forest let Morgan Gibbs-White leave?

Football Insider revealed on 27 April that Forest will be unable to keep Gibbs-White if they are relegated, with four games left to play in the Premier League.

However, with no defeat in their last six games and back-to-back wins, they are in a strong position to stay up and keep hold of the England international.

Man United are among a number of clubs believed to be keeping tabs on his situation, but could be forced to look elsewhere by the time the window opens.

Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "He's a top player, Gibbs-White, and he's bound to attract interest this summer.

"We obviously know Man United are looking to bring in a couple of midfielders in this window.

"Forest have him on a long-term contract now, they'll be hoping they can keep hold of him.

"Right now, I'm not sure he's a priority for Manchester United, and as I said, Forest are confident they can keep hold of him if they do secure Premier League survival.

"They've put themselves in a strong position there now, so as things stand I think a move is unlikely and interested clubs will have to look elsewhere."

Who else is interested in signing Gibbs-White?

Man United are not the only club keeping an eye on the Nottingham Forest star in case he is allowed to leave the City Ground in the upcoming window.

Man City have been long-term admirers of his, and are also aiming to bolster their midfield options, potentially opening the door to a summer move.

This comes after Football Insider revealed earlier this year that Man City are keeping tabs on Gibbs-White and could make a move to lure him away.

However, Nottingham Forest's reluctance to sell could force any interested club away, with other options believed to be on their radar this summer.

After tying the attacking midfielder down to a new contract in their attempts to deter interest from Spurs last summer, their stance has not changed.
