Morgan Gibbs-White: Nottingham Forest could be forced to accept ‘inevitable’ exit
Morgan Gibbs-White is expected to leave Nottingham Forest this summer if they fail to achieve Premier League survival, sources have told Football Insider.
The 26-year-old is attracting interest from a number of high-profile clubs ahead of the transfer window opening and it may prove tough for Forest to block his exit.
Vitor Pereira’s side have put themselves in a strong position to avoid relegation, with a five-point gap to the bottom three, but there are still five games to play.
As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, Nottingham Forest believe they can keep hold of Gibbs-White if they stay up.
However, vultures are now circling, and relegation from the top flight means it will be inevitable that he moves on in a key window for Nottingham Forest.

Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider on 21 April that Nottingham Forest are determined to keep Gibbs-White and hope to rebuff any offers.
However, should they be leapfrogged by both West Ham and Tottenham in the closing stages of the season, those ambitions may become impossible.

A number of clubs are keeping a close eye on his situation and will aim to exploit Forest’s league position in an attempt to get a deal over the line.
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: “He’s a top player, Gibbs-White, 12 goals in the Premier League. That’s the most of any midfielder in the league.
“Look, Forest have him on a long-term contract now, they’ll be hoping they can keep hold of him.
“They don’t want a repeat of last year where they stepped in to stop him going to Tottenham and all the drama that went along with that.
“The problem is, if they are to suffer the fate of relegation, it would seem inevitable that Gibbs-White would move on.
“There will be interest in him and he won’t want to play in the Championship next season.
“Forest are confident they can keep hold of him if they do secure Premier League survival because he’s on that long contract there and they don’t want to sell.”
Which clubs are interested in signing Gibbs-White?
A number of clubs have been keeping close tabs on Gibbs-White in case he is allowed to leave Forest in the summer after what has been an impressive season.
Nottingham Forest were successful in blocking the England international from joining Tottenham last summer, but may struggle to replicate that this year.

Brown told Football Insider on 24 April that Man United want to sign Gibbs-White, while Man City are also among the clubs tracking his progress.
After his hattrick in the 4-1 win against Burnley last time out, a number of top clubs are being linked with a move for the England international’s signature.
It may prove difficult for Forest to keep hold of him as a result, with big money set to be tabled in an attempt to force them to reconsider their stance.
