Liverpool are among the sides ready to battle Newcastle United for the signing of Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

However, it is believed Palace are set to ask for bids in excess of £60million in order to sanction an exit for the impressive defender.

A well-placed source has told Football Insider that London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham are also interested in Guehi - alongside Newcastle and Liverpool.

However, it is believed Palace's asking price could make a deal too hard to do - even for the Premier League's elite clubs.

Guehi dazzled yet again in his second season Selhurst Park since joining from boyhood club Chelsea.

He missed just one of Crystal Palace’s Premier League fixtures last term amid 40 total outings - and even captained the side on various occasions despite his tender age.

His form has also earned recognition on the international stage, with the centre-back now a fully-fledged England star.

The Chelsea academy product made his Three Lions debut in March 2022 and has gone on to make four appearances for Gareth Southgate’s side – including in last month’s qualifier win over Malta.

Guehi, who cost a reported £20million in 2021, earns £50,000-a-week (as per FBRef) on a contract which is set to run until June 2026.

Liverpool

Both Liverpool and Newcastle are also believed to be interested in Sporting CP centre-back Goncalo Inacio.
