Mark Lawrenson predicts Tottenham v Arsenal, offers thoughts on title race
By Amir Mir
Mark Lawrenson believes Tottenham will record a 1-1 draw against their north London rivals Arsenal on Sunday afternoon at White Hart Lane.
At this moment in time, Premier League leaders Chelsea are four points ahead of second-placed Spurs in the table.
Lawrenson believes Arsenal will “put a spanner in the works” of their rivals as they aim to close the gap on the leaders.
Both teams come into the fixture on the back of wins in midweek, with the Gunners beating Leicester on home soil and their neighbours seeing off the threat of Crystal Palace.
Ahead of the match, Lawrenson offered his thoughts on the title race and what Arsene Wenger’s side will do to their opponents’ hopes of being crowned champions.

“Spurs have now won eight league games on the spin but I just have a feeling that Arsenal will put a spanner in the works of their bid to catch Chelsea,” Lawrenson told BBC Sport.
“Arsene Wenger’s side will be full of confidence and have got a bit of momentum too. This is a game that I don’t see them losing.”
Five matches of the season remain for Pochettino’s team, who are hoping to edge closer to Chelsea in the table.
After playing their north London rivals, they will take on West Ham, Manchester United, Leicester City, with Hull being the final match of the season.
For Pochettino’s team to have a remote chance of being crowned champions, they cannot afford to drop any points from here on in.
Furthermore, they will need Chelsea to lose a couple of matches as the league leaders beat Southampton 4-2 on Tuesday night.
Now, Antonio Conte’s team will travel to Merseyside for a tricky away fixture against Everton at Goodison Park.
In other Tottenham news, the club is reportedly set to green light a stunning deal worth £25million in wages.
