Mark Warburton has stated that Rangers winger Barrie McKay has not been distracted by interest from other clubs.
The Gers manager was adamant that if any player leaves Ibrox then they would leave on the terms of the club.
Attacking ace McKay has been one of the standout performers for Warburton during this campaign and has been linked with a January transfer, with RB Leipzig said to be most strongly pursuing him.
The 22-year-old’s performances on the pitch have forced his club manager to ensure supporters that he will continue to develop at the club.
“He is a talented player, there is no doubt about that,” Warburton told Rangers TV. “There are no fears Barrie’s head has been turned, you saw at the weekend the level of his performance, his dynamism, his desire and his commitment to the club is undoubted.
“I have no problems about Barrie McKay whatsoever; I want him to keep on working hard every day in training and watch his continue to develop in the weeks ahead.
“You look at the prices being paid and you can see why Scottish players represent value but our job is to keep our best players and if any player leaves here they will leave here on Rangers terms.”
McKay has played 28 games in all competitions this season for the Glasgow giants, scoring three goals and supplying nine assists.
The youngster impressed during the 2-1 Old Firm defeat against rivals Celtic on New Year’s Eve and continued that display against Motherwell in the Scottish Cup at the weekend.
The club’s academy product helped his side avoid an upset and secure a 2-1 win on home soil to progress through to the next round of the competition.
Warburton’s side, who are 19 points behind rivals Celtic in the Scottish Premiership, will return to league action this Saturday.
They take on Mark McGhee’s Motherwell once again, this time at Fir Park where they will be looking to maintain second spot in the table.
The Gers are two points ahead of third-placed Aberdeen, but the Dons have a game in hand against their rivals.
In other Rangers transfer news, Danny Wilson has stated that everyone at the club wants this player to agree a new deal.
