'Massive' Bielsa factor hailed as Firpo makes Leeds transfer revelation

Kevin Campbell has hailed the importance of Marcelo Bielsa’s role in bringing new players to Leeds United.

The Arsenal icon, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, reacted to recent comments from new Leeds player Junior Firpo.

On 2nd August, Firpo told Sky Sports how Bielsa played a huge role in convincing him to sign for Leeds.

Firpo claimed Bielsa’s style of play attracted him as he looked to leave Barcelona.

The defender joined the Whites in early July as the club fought off late interest from West Ham.

Alioski spent last season filling it at left-back despite being an attacker by nature.

Campbell insists Bielsa’s draw is massive for Leeds as they continue to look for new first-team additions.

“The draw of Bielsa is massive for Leeds, big time,” Campbell told Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs.

“The attraction is there, he attracts players and that’s so important.

“It’s massive if you can attract those quality players with your manager.

“Fair play, that’s why you get the manager and you pay him well.

“These managers can make a serious difference on the recruitment side of things.”

Leeds travel to Old Trafford next weekend for their first Premier League game of the 2021-22 season.

Bielsa’s side will be looking for revenge after they were hammered 6-2 in the same fixture last season.
