Exclusive: Agbonlahor on Haller future at West Ham after Moyes comments
West Ham striker Sebastien Haller will be "frustrated" he has not been able to stake his claim for a regular starting spot in Michail Antonio's absence, according to Gabriel Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley, the former England and Aston Villa striker delivered his verdict after the Frenchman failed to make an impact against Liverpool and Fulham.
Haller was handed his first league starts of the season in recent weeks with Antonio missing with a groin injury.
Agbonlahor claimed the Cottagers set up very defensively at the weekend and made it difficult to create chances for West Ham's record signing.
It was an assessment that manager David Moyes agreed with and the Scotsman expressed his frustration after the game about the lack of crosses for Haller.
He told the West Ham website: "Our crossing quality was really poor and we didn’t deliver good enough quality into the box when we were in positions to do so. We were hoping to get something aerial for Haller to score from."
Haller has scored just two top-flight goals since January but Agbonlahor is not worried about his form.
He told Football Insider: "It's not as if Fulham played a 4-4-2 or 4-3-3, Fulham played a very defensive formation.
"It would have been tough for even Antonio to break them down. West Ham get their most joy when they play against teams on the counter attack.
"The game against Fulham was tough to create chances. So it's not something that I'd worry about.
"I think with Haller, if you get the right balls into the box for him then he will score goals but West Ham didn't manage to do that.
"I'm sure he'll be frustrated because he wants to be scoring goals."
