Gabriel Agbonlahor has claimed Neil Lennon will be replaced as Celtic manager at the end of the season after they failed to make a permanent January signing.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former England and Aston Villa striker insisted the Hoops squad is set up for an overhaul under a younger, fresher manager in the summer.

Liverpool

Everton's Jonjoe Kenny was the only arrival at Parkhead, arriving on loan until the end of the season.

Olivier Ntcham and Jeremie Frimpong both left the club moving to Marseille and Bayer Leverkusen, respecitvely.

“I don’t see Neil Lennon keeping his job,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“To be so far behind Rangers it’s impossible [for them to catch up].

“They’ve probably seen that this season has gone now. So they’re probably thinking ‘we’ll bring in a new manager at the end of the season and then he’s got the summer to work out which players he wants and which he doesn’t.’

“It makes sense to not let Neil Lennon bring in players other than a six-month loan.

“It’s all set up for an overhaul of the squad and it might be time for certain players to leave the club and some fresh bodies come in.

Celtic manager

“Rangers will win the league this season but Celtic won’t want them to do it again next season.

“I see a big change there and a younger manager with fresh ideas coming in.”
