Arsenal forward Nathan Butler-Oyedeji is wanted by Belgian duo Standard Liege and Eupen in a permanent deal, sources have told Football Insider.

The Premier League giants are willing to let the 21-year-old depart the club before the transfer deadline as he is well down Mikel Arteta’s pecking order.

Both Belgian sides have registered their interest in a deal before the 31st August deadline.

The striker spent the first half of last season on loan at Cheltenham Town before returning to Arsenal’s Under-21s in January.

Butler-Oyedeji made 13 appearances in League One but failed to score a goal during his time with the club.

After returning to Arsenal’s Under-21s the forward scored six goals and provided two assists from 14 games, ending the season well.

Arsenal could use finances from Nathan Butler-Oyedeji to strengthen the squad

Despite Arsenal’s willingness to let a versatile forward leave the club, Arteta is focusing on signing a number nine in this window.

The Premier League side may look to sell several fringe players in order to boost the transfer kitty to make that a reality.
