BBC journalist Adam Pope has revealed that journalists were banned from asking about the political situation in Myanmar after the controversy over the Leeds summer tour.

The tour came up in Paul Heckingbottom's Q&A but none of the journalists asked about the political implications.

They were told that if they did the press conference would be stopped immediately.

Pope revealed the shock news on his Twitter account after the press conference.

Just to be clear that we were told by the club before the press conference today that we were not allowed to ask questions about the political situation in Myanmar with regards to Leeds United’s proposed trip there in May. #lufc

Leeds fans took to Twitter after his comments, with one fan saying that Andrea Radrizzani should have been there to answer questions but that he "bottled it".

A few fans agreed with him that Radrizzani should have been there but a lot of fans said that it wasn't Heckingbottom's job as manager to field political questions.

Most fans said they wanted to hear about football and the Norwich game in particular, not Myanmar.
