Chris Sutton has named Celtic's Ryan Christie in his team of the week after he starred on loan in Aberdeen's stunning 4-1 against Hibernian on Friday night.

Christie, 22, in enjoying a brilliant patch of form in his second consecutive season on loan at Pittodrie and was on top of his game last week when Derek McInnes' side hammered Neil Lennon's Hibs.

Sutton saw it fit to name just Aberdeen and Hearts players in his team of the week after the Edinburgh side smashed Celtic 4-0 to end their 69-game unbeaten domestic run on Sunday.

However that decision from the BT Sport pundit caused controversy as many believe that at least some St Johnstone players should have got a spot after they came from behind to beat Rangers 3-1 at Ibrox on Saturday.

Sutton posted his team of the week on his personal Twitter account on Monday.

Although a case could have been made for all of the 11 players to be named in Sutton's team of the week, not many fans were happy with his decision to exclude any of Tommy Wright's Ibrox-conquering stars.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

Celtic attacker Christie has made 23 appearances across all competitions while on loan at Aberdeen this season, scoring five goals and supplying seven assists in the process.

The former Scotland Under-21 international is widely tipped to have a great future at Parkhead but has failed to force himself into Brendan Rodgers first-team plans since the Northern Irishman arrived in Glasgow.
