Leeds United are not expected to rush into a decision on Daniel Farke's future following the defeat against Burnley, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider's Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O'Rourke revealed that pressure is building on the boss after a slow start to the season as Leeds have taken just eight points from their opening five games.

Sources say the 49ers are desperate to reach promotion to the Premier League this season after missing out last time, and Farke could be the one to pay if they fall away.

Last season's failure has been described as "agonising" after it forced Leeds into selling some of their best players including Archie Gray, Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter.

However, it is said that the board are aware they had a similarly slow start to last season and are backing the boss to find a similar turnaround in form.

Leeds United make Daniel Farke sack decision

An opening-day draw with Portsmouth at Elland Road set the tone for what has been a frustrating start to the season for Leeds.

A turbulent beginning has seen the team achieve impressive victories against rivals Hull City and Sheffield Wednesday, but drop points to Portsmouth, West Brom and Burnley.

They also crashed out of the League Cup in spectacular fashion after a 3-0 defeat to Middlesbrough.

Farke will be aware of the pressure he faces, having seen similar calls for his dismissal last season before a turnaround in form from November saw his side in contention for automatic promotion.

With growing pressure from the crowd, the board are keen to stick by their man, but he will need an upturn in results if he is to keep his job.

Leeds

Promotion to the Premier League has been Leeds' goal since their relegation in 2023 as they were left frustrated following last season's playoff defeat.

Achieving promotion this time out is seen as crucial, and should Farke not set the course to achieve that, alternative options are likely to be explored.
