Tottenham will look to sell Emerson Royal after clubs have expressed an interest in signing him this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed Italian giants AC Milan and Saudi Arabian sides are monitoring the Brazilian international’s situation.

Royal is likely to fall victim to a “major” reshuffle as Ange Postecoglou looks to strengthen his squad once the transfer window reopens.

Spurs chiefs are set to tell the right-back he is free to find a new club this summer despite his contract running until June 2026.

Emerson Royal likely to make Tottenham exit this summer

Royal could be one of the first players to leave Tottenham in the coming weeks following Postecoglou’s scathing comments surrounding the “rebuild” of his side.

Although the right-back has made 101 appearances for the club – 24 of which have come in the past season – he hasn’t exactly pulled up any trees since arriving from Barcelona in 2021 for £25.8million.

The Brazilian spent the majority of the second half of the campaign warming the bench before being drafted in as a makeshift left-back to replace the injured Destiny Udogie in the final weeks of the season.

The defender is expected to leave north London once the transfer window reopens unless Postecoglou has a significant change of heart around his future.
