Everton are plotting a move to sign AC Milan’s Samuel Chukwueze in the January transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that the _-year-old has been on the club’s radar before.

Chukwueze hasn’t figured much this season under new AC Milan coach Paolo Fonseca, with six of his eight appearances in all competitions coming from the bench.

However, well-placed sources have told Football Insider that a deal for the winger will be difficult to accomplish in the upcoming transfer window.

Sean Dyche is targeting a right-winger to enhance that side of the team, with Santiago Castro being another option.

Both wingers are currently playing in Serie A, which is a division The Friedkin Group have plenty of experience working in due to their involvement with Roma.

Everton are expected to have cash to spend on a Samuel Chukwueze move

The Friedkin Group are in the process of purchasing Farhad Moshiri’s 94.1% stake in the Merseyside giants, and they are awaiting the final steps before the takeover is made official.

The expected new owners don’t want the club to be involved in another relegation fight, therefore strengthening the squad to push away from that could be an option.

Everton currently sit 16th in the Premier League table after a difficult start to the season that has seen them win just one of their opening seven fixtures.

Dyche’s side will be back in action on Saturday (19 October) against newly promoted Ipswich Town.
