Exclusive: Leeds United ready formal Rabbi Matondo move
Leeds United are set to step up their interest in Rangers winger Rabbi Matondo with the club set to lose out on Jonathan Rowe, sources have told Football Insider.
The Whites are looking to bolster their attacking options before the close of the transfer window and Rowe and Matondo have been on their wanted list.
Leeds boss Daniel Farke is understood to be a big fan of Wales international Matondo, having previously tried to sign the 23-year-old when he was in charge of Norwich.
United are now readying a formal move for the player.
Football Insider revealed on Friday (16 August) that Rangers are open to offers for the winger as they look to offload players after failing to qualify for the Champions League.
Norwich ace Rowe had been at the top of the winger shortlist at Elland Road but is closing in on a move to Ligue 1 giants Marseille.

Matondo is now a top target at Leeds, who are looking to bounce back after losing Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter to the Premier League this summer.
Football Insider revealed on Monday (19 August) that the Yorkshire are planning to agree the signings of a winger and striker before the transfer deadline.
Summerville and Rutter contributed 50 goal contributions in the Championship last season as Leeds lost in the playoff final.
Matondo, who joined Rangers from Schalke two years ago, notched six goals and four assists in 31 games last term.
He has grabbed one assist in four appearances in the new campaign.
