Exclusive: Paul Robinson names attacker Liverpool must choose over Ryan Fraser

Paul Robinson claimed Liverpool will hand Harry Wilson a chance next season rather than make a move for his current teammate Ryan Fraser.

The former England international, speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, suggested the 23-year-old would be a better fit at Anfield after impressing on loan at Bournemouth.

Fraser, who is out of contract this June, was linked with the Reds last year but a move has so far failed to materialise.

The winger has failed to match his high standards of recent campaigns, scoring once and providing four assists in 32 appearances.

When asked if he could see the Scotland international being part of Jurgen Klopp's squad for next season, Robinson told Football Insider: "I do not see him fitting in at Anfield. He has been in and out of the Bournemouth team this year and by his own admittance, he has had dips in form.

"Harry Wilson is a more realistic option than Fraser. You look at the way Wilson has played at Bournemouth, that type of player I see fitting in better with the set up at Liverpool. The Premier League loan for him has been outstanding.

"Fraser has been fantastic for a while but I just question whether he is a Liverpool player. I expect Klopp to look to Wilson instead."

In comparison, Wilson, on a season-long loan with Eddie Howe's side, has scored six goals and provided two assists in 27 appearances.

The attacking midfielder is due back at Anfield this June but the suspension of the Premier League, like many leagues across Europe, may see the loanee remain at the Vitality until the season is completed.
