Exclusive: Rangers player granted permission to quit Ibrox & head to Sheffield United
Rangers rising star Ciaran Dickson has been given the green light by the club to head to Sheffield United for a trial, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.
The midfielder, 18, is surplus to requirements at the Glasgow giants despite being a Scotland youth international and hailed as a future star.
Ibrox sources have told Football Insider that Dickson has been told by the hierarchy he is free to find a new club.
Dickson is now headed south of the border to spend time at Premier League outfit Sheffield United.
Chris Wilder and his coaching staff are set to take a close look at the teenager and make up their minds whether he should be offered a contract.
Dickson, who signed a professional contract with Rangers in 2018 shortly before he turned 16, has been capped by Scotland at Under-19s and Under-17s level.
He has yet to make his senior club debut and is now set to quit Ibrox without ever doing so.
