RB Leipzig are plotting a summer swoop to sign Tottenham teenager Troy Parrott, Football Insider understands.

The German big hitters are keeping tabs on a host of top young talent at England's leading clubs and the latest on their radar is the centre-forward, who only turned 17 in February.

A Leipzig source told Football Insider the club have sent scouts to watch Parrott in youth-team games as they compile a dossier on him ahead of a potential summer move.

Parrott has scored 14 goals in 22 age-group matches for Spurs this season but has yet to make his senior bow, although he has trained with the senior squad on a number of occasions.

The Dublin-born Republic of Ireland youth international joined the north Londoners in the summer of 2017 after being a prolific goalscorer in his homeland.

Spurs will be mindful that two of their most highly rated academy products quit the club last summer, with winger Keanan Bennetts joining Borussia Mochengladbach and striker Reo Griffiths signing for Lyon.

Bennetts, 20, has spent the season playing for Mochengladbach's reserves, while Griffiths, 18, has also been playing for the Lyon youth sides.
