'Phenomenal' - Exclusive: Robinson reacts to behind-the-scenes sight at Tottenham

Paul Robinson believes Moussa Sissoko could make an immediate impact on the Tottenham side after seeing him step up his recovery from injury.

The former Leeds and England goalkeeper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, has heralded the Frenchman's "phenomenal" energy levels as well as his improvement under Jose Mourinho.

The 30-year-old posted a video on his personal Instagram account of him jogging and practising with a ball after suffering ligament damage back in early January.

Spurs have delivered an update statin his rehabilitation was ongoing out on the training pitch, with journalist Alisdair Gold suggesting he could be back sooner than expected.

Reacting to the news, Robinson told Football Insider: "He's been a huge improvement over the last 18 months and Jose's used him in a more advanced role at times, which he haven't seen.

"(Can he force his way into the side?) Without a doubt he can because of the way he performed before his injury. A player that can have that kind of impact, just his engine, the way he gets up and down the pitch.

"Sometimes he can be a bit haphazard at times with his finishing and his shooting, but his application, his engine and the energy that he's got is phenomenal." 

Sissoko played 26 times for Spurs this season before being sidelined, with two goals and two assists under his belt.

He has a total of 151 appearances for the Lilywhites, having joined from Newcastle United for £30million back in 2016.
