Paul Robinson urged Tottenham to sign AC Milan attacker Krzysztof Piatek after being dismayed by the reported pursuit of Fernando Llorente.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Laura O'Leary, the ex-Spurs keeper insisted Llorente wasn't the attacker Spurs should be looking for as he left the club for a reason.

It was reported that the Spanish striker could return to Spurs following Harry Kane's injury despite only joining Napoli in September.

Robinson urged Spurs to look at signing Piatek instead of Llorente as the 24-year-old is young, tall and capable of leading the line.

When asked about Spurs pursuing Llorente, Robinson told Football Insider: "No that's not the answer at all!

"He left for a reason, he didn't score the goals, and he didn't fill the role when Harry Kane wasn't there.

"I think Piatek at AC Milan is the type of player they should be looking at, he's the one, obviously Ibrahimovic has gone in there, so there may be an opportunity to get him.

"He's young, he's No.9, he's tall, he leads the line.

"So I certainly wouldn't look at Llorente, he's not the answer, I'd look at someone like Piatek instead."

Jose Mourinho's side have been credited with an interest in Piatek already this window as it was reported that Spurs held talks with AC Milan about signing the attacker.

The Polish striker has scored four goals in 18 appearances for Milan this season and is contracted to stay with the Italian club until 2023.
