Rotherham United have agreed a fee with Ross County for the signing of midfielder Jamie Lindsay, Football Insider understands.

Former Celtic youngster Lindsay has been given permission to travel to South Yorkshire to hold contract talks and undergo a medical after the Scottish outfit reluctantly accepted Rotherham’s six-figure offer.

A source at Rotherham has told Football Insider that the two clubs have agreed on a price in the region of £300,000 for the 23-year-old, who is into the final year of his contract at Ross County.

Lindsay enjoyed an outstanding campaign season with Ross County last season, helping his win the Scottish Championship title and secure promotion back to Scotland's top flight.

The 23-year-old was one of the stars in the Scottish second tier, scoring nine goals and providing four assists from midfield in 48 games in all competitions.

While Ross County were winning the title in Scotland's second tier, Rotherham suffered relegation from the Championship after being promoted the previous season, finishing four points off Millwall in 21st.
