Wolves are plotting a move to sign highly rated Reading youngster Danny Loader, Football Insider understands.

Loader, 18, is regarded as one of the best young talents in the country after impressing for Reading this season and for England at various youth levels.

The prolific forward made his professional debut for Reading in August 2017 as a 16-year-old, but it has been this season where he has established himself as a first-team regular by making 22 appearances in all competitions.

Loader scored his first senior goal with a stunning effort in the defeat to Middlesbrough last month and his progress this season has been monitored by a host of Premier League clubs.

A Wolves source has told Football Insider the club are looking to steal a march on their rivals by trying to set up a deal for the England Under-19 international.

Wolves are keen to bring in more younger talents this summer to supplement their first-team squad at Molineux and they believe Loader is a potential star in the making.

Reading would be reluctant to lose Loader this summer, but the club's financial position means they could find it hard to resist a sizeable offer for one of their prize assets.
