Rarely-seen player starts in five changes: Celtic expected XI v Kilmarnock

Celtic return to league action on Wednesday night when they take on Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership, as they attempt to end the season in style.

The Hoops have two league games left before the Scottish Cup Final - against Kilmarnock and Aberdeen - and it will be interesting to see the team selected by Brendan Rodgers for the game against Steve Clarke's side.

It will also be interesting to see how Steve Clarke's side approaches the game, as the Rugby Park team have slackened off considerably in recent weeks after they clinched their place in the top six of the league title.

Of course, technically the game is also meaningless for the Hoops, as they have already won the league title, and will only be playing for places in the Scottish Cup Final team to play Motherwell in just under a fortnight's time.

Rodgers is expected to make five changes from the side which defeated Hearts on Sunday,

GOALKEEPER AND DEFENCE

Scott Bain (Goalkeeper) - Expected to keep his place in the team after replacing the injured Craig Gordon against Hearts, hasn't let anybody down so far but will probably not be selected for the cup final.

Jack Hendry (Right-back) - Could replace Mikael Lustig, he is set to be a big player for the Hoops next season and has a chance to impress the Hoops manager if he turns in a good performance v Killie.

Dedryck Boyata - (Centre-back) - Expected to keep his place in the team after a great performance against Hearts, Brendan Rodgers gas been proven correct in keeping faith with the 27-year-old.

Kristoffer Ajer - (Centre-back) - Expected to keep his place in the first-team, his partnership with Dedryck Boyata is expected to be kept intact as the Hoops look ahead to the cup final v Motherwell.

Calvin Miller (Left-back) - There's a chance he could come in to replace Callum McGregor. The rarely-seen understudy to Kieran Tierney can prove what he is made of if he turns is a good display against a powerful Killie attack.

MIDFIELD

Celtic

Olivier Ntcham (Central-midfield) - Expected to keep his place in the first-team, the 22-year-old has been excellent for the Hoops this season and his partnership with Scott Brown has been key to that.

Scott Brown (Central-midfield) - Expected to keep his place in the team as the Scottish player of the year will want to start the game and turn in another dominant display worthy of player of the year.

James Forrest (Left-wing) - Expected to keep his place in the team after a superb season, he finally scored against Rangers recently and will be looking to add to his tally of 18 goals for the season.

Stuart Armstrong (Attacking-midfield) - Expected to replace Tom Rogic, he is only just back from injury but showed enough in his cameo appearance against Hearts to merit a start against Killie.

Patrick Roberts (Right-wing) - Expected to replace Odsonne Edouard, a long-awaited start for the loan signing who has only started one game for the Hoops in the year of 2018 because of injury.

FORWARDS

Scott Sinclair (Striker) - Expected to replace Moussa Dembele, playing in a role which he isn't used to, but his goal against Hearts can provide him with the confidence needed to show that he can still be effective.
