Simon Jordan has revealed on Twitter that he is not interested in purchasing Rangers because of the quality of the Scottish Premiership.

Self-made millionaire Jordan, 49, was Crystal Palace's chairman for a decade between 2000 and 2010, saving the London club from extinction and stabilising the Eagles during his tenure.

Replying to a fan on his personal Twitter account, the outspoken Jordan labelled Rangers as a "great club" but would not be interested in buying them because Scotland's top flight is a "poor league".

Rangers are currently a huge 33 points behind Old Firm rivals Celtic in third place, with Brendan Rodgers' side looking increasingly likely to complete a marvellous treble this season.

The Gers are currently owned by Sevco, a company formed by former chief executive Charles Green.

However, fans are becoming disillusioned with their club's owners, with the group taking their time over appointing a new boss to the vacant managerial position.

On the pitch, fortunes are beginning to turn, as interim boss Graeme Murty has masterminded two victories in his last two outings.

A first Scottish Premiership win during his tenure against St. Johnstone at Ibrox was followed up by a superb 6-0 thrashing of Hamilton in the Scottish Cup quarter final.

The Gers are next in action against Rodgers' Celtic on Sunday, as they look to end a poor run of form against the Bhoys that has seen them lose all three meeting between the two this season.
