Fulham are in talks with former Arsenal and Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor, according to a reliable BBC journalist.

David Ornstein tweeted on Wednesday morning to affirm the club's interest in the Togo international, saying  "#FFC are looking to do it."

The 32-year-old is currently a free agent and Ornstein claims that Fulham are keen to get the move done, although given Adebayor's current status, they wouldn't have to complete the deal before the transfer deadline.

The striker was originally brought to the Premier League by Arsene Wenger in 2006 from Monaco in an £8.5million deal.

He spent three years with the Gunners, scoring 62 goals in 142 games, before his £24.5million move to Manchester City in 2009.

The striker never managed to recreate the same sort of form at his future clubs, although he did spend three years at Spurs where he scored 42 goals in 113 games.

He spent the first half of this year at Crystal Palace before being released in July and now it looks like he could be making a move to his fourth London club.

Fulham have made an excellent start to the season, picking up 11 points from their opening five Championship games, which leaves them in second place going into the international break.

Their next game will be at Craven Cottage at home to Birmingham City on 10 September.
