'He's a victim of Mourinho' - Exclusive: Spurs work on selling senior ace, Robinson reacts

Paul Robinson has claimed Juan Foyth is a "victim" of Jose Mourinho's appointment at Tottenham and has been "unlucky" to not get more game time.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, the former White Hart Lane number one suggested Mourinho has remained loyal to Serge Aurier despite the 22-year-old being better defensively.

Football Insider understands Spurs are willing to sell the Argentina international for £8million this summer despite having blocked the player's request for a move in January.

Foyth has not been helped by the emergence of academy graduate Japhet Tanganga who has been preferred, along with Serge Aurier, by manager Jose Mourinho.

Robinson praised the Argentine defender for his defensive capabilities and ability to play across the back four.

"Tanganga has come in and Mourinho has also been loyal to Serge Aurier throughout the season," he told Football Insider.

"Foyth came in for a couple of the Champions League games and I think he did well. Defensively, he looks stronger than Aurier but Aurier offers a lot more going forward.

"Foyth has been unlucky. He has not had many opportunities and he is a useful defender because he can play anywhere across the back four.

"If he has been told to find another club then he is a victim of the new manager wanting to put his stamp on the squad."

Foyth has made just seven appearances this season, three in the Premier League and three in the Champions League, but has featured predominantly as a substitute.

The Argentina international still has two years remaining on his contract in north London having joined from Estudiantes in August 2017.
