Celtic and West Ham legend Frank McAvennie joined the Football Insider stable in June 2020 and has not disappointed with his own brand of unique punditry. He loves talking football almost as much as he loved scoring goals, and still has close links in the dressing room at Parkhead.

"Amazing" Danny Ings may be put off a move to Tottenham Hotspur due to the presence of Son Heung-Min and Harry Kane, according to Frank McAvennie.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the legendary former West Ham striker admitted he would love the Englishman to come to London Stadium if he is to leave Southampton.

Asked by Football Insider whether there was room for Ings at Tottenham with Kane and Son featuring in every Premier League game this season, McAvennie said: "Spurs have a lot of games, so there could be room for Ings there.

"Harry Kane is also coming a lot deeper now, even though he is still scoring a lot of goal. He has added a new attribute to his game so maybe Mourinho thinks Ings could play with Kane.

"On the flip-side, I do not know if he would go because Son and Kane are first choice there.

"Ings is an amazing player. I would love to see him at West Ham, he would be ideal. He is a natural goalscorer."

After scoring 22 Premier League goals last season, Ings has found the net seven times in 13 appearances this term.

In 124 Premier League games for Burnley, Liverpool and Southampton, the England international has scored 50 goals and provided 12 assists.
