Swansea are on the verge of agreeing a deal to sign Falkirk left-back Tony Gallacher, according to a report.

The Daily Mail claims that Rangers are one of a host of clubs who are interested in Gallacher, 18, but are yet to make an offer.

It is understood that Liverpool, Manchester United and Barcelona have all sent out scouts to keep close tabs on the Scotland Under-19 international, however they, along with the Gers, have not made a bid and it appears that Swansea have jumped the queue to sign him.

The report states that cash-strapped Falkirk rejected a bid last year worth £750,000, however this time around they are willing to accept a lower fee ahead of the January transfer window.

Left-sided flyer Gallacher, who can play at full-back or on the wing, has made 17 appearances for Falkirk across all competitions this season, supplying two assists.

Gallacher is naturally a left-back, and although he can play on the left-wing too, he is perhaps someone that Rangers do not really need at the moment. Declan John has just agreed a permanent deal at Ibrox and with Lee Wallace and Lee Hodson in reserve, the Light Blues are well stock at full-back. Graeme Murty needs to try and strengthen his central midfield options before anything else. Graham Dorrans' injury is a big blow and Ryan Jack's constant suspension issues are becoming a theme. Rangers probably won''t have a lot of money to play around with next month so it could be that some players may have to leave before others are brought in.
