Leeds United have been given a big boost in their pursuit of Club Brugge sensation Noa Lang through encouragement he is keen to join this summer, Football Insider understands.

United are working on a deal to lure the winger, 21, after identifying him as a top target and preliminary talks have been held over a deal.

An industry source has told Football Insider that Leeds have been told that Lang is interested in swapping Belgium for the Premier League in this window.

The forward wants to take his career to the next level after an outstanding campaign in Belgium.

Lang has been on a season-long loan from Ajax but it has already been agreed the deal will be converted into a permanent one in July for around £6m.

However, Brugge are open to selling the Holland Under-21 international on for a quick and significant profit.

Leeds face competition from other clubs across Europe, but can offer Lang the chance to develop under master coach Marcelo Bielsa as well as provide a Premier League platform.

Those factors could prove decisive, although sources say a quick deal is unlikely.

United are in the market for a a versatile forward in the 18-23 age bracket who can play out wide and down the middle, is quick and has an eye for goal.

Football Insider revealed on 19th May that Lang was a firm target for Leeds after his outstanding campaign for Brugge star.

During the 2020-21 campaign, Lang scored 17 goals and supplied 11 assists from 38 appearances in all competitions.

He has only played 14 times for Ajax, but has eight Holland Under-21 caps.
