Leeds United supporters are demanding that Thomas Christiansen axes Vurnon Anita from his starting line-up for Tuesday night's clash with Cardiff in South Wales.

Anita, 28, signed for the Whites in the summer after he was released by Newcastle United and has been filling in at left-back while Gaetano Berardi has been injured.

However the Swiss full-back has now regained his fitness after a spell on the sidelines and Whites fans believe that it is time that Chrsitiansen calls him back into the starting line-up in place of Anita, who they were less than impressed with in the 3-2 win against Ipswich at the weekend.

Leeds have an extremely important trip to the Cardiff City Stadium on Tuesday night as they look to keep themselves top of the table after an impressive start to the season.

Both the Yorkshire and Welsh sides, along with Wolves, are level on 20 points at the top of the Championship standings and anything less than a win could see Christiansen's men lose their lead.

Whites fans on Twitter have made no secret that they think their best chance of winning will come if Anita is axed by Christiansen for the clash.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

Anita has made 10 appearances across all competitions for Leeds this season, all of which coming at left-back although he is naturally a defensive midfielder or a right-back.

Berardi is also naturally a right-back but fans clearly feel he will be better suited on the left side of the back four for the midweek showdown with the Bluebirds.
