'Seems a bit Fishy' - Exclusive: Leeds accused of big 'Cover-up' by pundit

Gabriel Agbonlahor has rejected Leeds United manager Marcelo Beilsa's claim that Pablo Hernandez missed their 0-0 draw with Arsenal because of injury.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley, the former Aston Villa and England striker suggested the Spaniard is involved in a "cover-up" behind the scenes.

Hernandez has not featured for the Whites since reacting angrily to being substituted against Leicester City at the beginning of the month.

He was left out of their game against Crystal Palace before the international break with no explanation.

The 35-year-old then apologised for his actions against the Foxes on Instagram.

Before the visit of the Gunners on Sunday, Bielsa revealed he would miss the game with a muscular injury.

However, Agbonlahor claimed Bielsa's reasoning was "fishy" and was a "cover-up" for the real reason he was left out.

He told Football Insider: “I think maybe something has happened behind the scenes because the reason he got dropped was because of his reaction against Leicester.

“All of sudden he’s injured - it seems a bit fishy to me.

“Maybe it’s something they’re trying to cover up. Hernandez has annoyed the manager and that’s why he’s keeping him out.

“When you look at the bench he had against Arsenal he’s got a lot to choose from and maybe he doesn’t think Hernandez is a player that can break into that squad of 18.”

Bielsa had Ian Poveda, Helder Costa, Rodrigo Moreno and Tyler Roberts as attacking options on his bench against Arsenal.

Both Rodrigo and Poveda were introduced in the second-half and Rodrigo almost secured all three points for the Whites with a late shot that hit the crossbar.
