Daniel Farke has the full backing of the Leeds United dressing room despite failing to achieve promotion back to the Premier League, sources have told Football Insider

The Whites players don’t want the German boss to be sacked after suffering a 1-0 defeat to Southampton in the Championship play-off final.

But the 49ers-led board are fully behind Farke and want him to lead the West Yorkshire club to promotion again in the next campaign.

Daniel Farke likely to stay at Leeds United next season

Farke had overseen an impressive first season at Elland Road before suffering play-off heartache at Wembley.

The German led Leeds to a third-place finish in the Championship, but his side were undone by a first-half Adam Armstrong goal in the final and never managed to recover.

There are likely to be changes to the squad this summer as the Whites reportedly owe £190million in unpaid transfers from the Andrea Radrizzani era.

Promotion back to the Premier League could have gone a long towards easing those concerns after it has been reported Southampton could earn more than £305million over the next three seasons following their play-off success.

Most of the attention is likely to be around Crysencio Summerville after Football Insider revealed on 28 May the winger is set to push for a move away from the club this summer
