Joe Gelhardt was "outstanding" for Leeds United in Sunday's 1-1 draw with Brighton, according to Alan Hutton.

The former Scotland international, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, was left in awe of the 20-year-old's "unreal" composure and technique to set up Pascal Struijk's injury-time equaliser.

In footage relayed on Leeds United's official Twitter account, Gelhardt can be seen executing a deft flick over Lewis Dunk before delivering a cross for the goal.

The point lifted Leeds out of the relegation zone, though Burnley have a game in hand.

Hutton was dazzled by Gelhardt's "tremendous" moment of magic in such a "high-pressure" scenario.

Hutton told Football Insider's Russell Edge: "It was unreal, wasn't it? The wee flick up and over the defender, it was outstanding.

"It was just tremendous. Showing such a high level of composure and skill in such a high-pressure environment, needing a goal, to come up with it at that moment of time was just outstanding.

"I still feel that they're in the thick of it. It's still going to be very difficult.

"But to have a player like him come through, even if they do go down, you'd like to think that he'd be a big part of them moving forward next season."

Gelhardt has played 21 times across all competitions for Leeds this season.

He has made four starts in 19 Premier League appearances so far.

Leeds United

Leeds face a trip to Brentford on the final day of the season.
