Lewis Miley could still follow Sean Longstaff out the door at Newcastle United after the latter made his debut for Leeds.

Longstaff left St. James' Park on 18 July after Leeds agreed a £12million deal with Newcastle for their home-grown midfielder, and the 'pure profit' generated from his sale helps the Magpies' PSR position.

Newcastle have also sold Lloyd Kelly and Martin Dubravka to Juventus and Burnley respectively this summer, but further exits could be on the cards other than the highly-anticipated sale of Alexander Isak.

Former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson told Football Insider last month that PSR constraints could force Newcastle to sell Miley for more 'pure profit', similar to Elliott Anderson's departure 12 months ago.

Longstaff sends 'proud' message after Leeds United switch

Former Man United and Sunderland scout Mick Brown has told Football Insider that Newcastle would accept bids for Miley this summer, with Eddie Howe's side also lining up a move for Conor Gallagher.

Longstaff's exit has left Miley as Howe's fourth-choice midfielder at St. James' Park, and the 19-year-old came off the bench in the second half of their opening-day stalemate at Aston Villa on Saturday.

Leeds' new number eight also made a late cameo of his own to close out their 1-0 victory against Everton at Elland Road, and at full-time on 18 August, Longstaff posted on Instagram.

In a message liked by Miley, Longstaff said: "What a way to start the season – incredibly proud to make my Leeds United debut at Elland Road and what an atmosphere tonight".

Newcastle exits on the cards amid Alexander Isak standoff

Football Insider Verdict

Newcastle have spent over £130million combined on Anthony Elanga, Malick Thiaw and Jacob Ramsey so far this summer despite their frustrations in the transfer market, and further additions are expected.

The Magpies must bolster their frontline before sanctioning Isak's potential £140m sale to Liverpool, but all attempts to sign a striker have failed and their move for Brentford's Yoane Wissa is at a standstill.

Wissa could yet succeed in forcing through his move to St. James' Park which opens the door for Isak's own departure to take place, but it remains to be seen which of these dominoes falls first for Newcastle.
