Liverpool bowing to 'unbelievable' Salah demands as FSG stance revealed - pundit
Mohamed Salah "will get what he wants" in contract negotiations with Liverpool, according to Paul Robinson.
The former Premier League goalkeeper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, said the club will cave to the 29-year-old's demands due to the cost of replacing him.
Salah's contract at Anfield runs until the summer of 2023.
According to The Telegraph (18 October) the winger is demanding wages of £400,000-a-week to extend his stay on Merseyside.
Football Insider revealed yesterday that Jurgen Klopp is putting “huge” pressure on owners FSG behind the scenes.
The Reds boss refuses to accept the idea of losing the Egypt captain over a contract stalemate.
Robinson is adamant a deal will be struck.
"Salah will get what he wants," he told Football Insider's Dylan Childs.
"Liverpool will have to pay him what he wants. To replace him would cost millions and millions. They may as well put that money into an unbelievable contract and keep the best player in the world.
"Salah has got a lot of sway and control in these negotiations but he has not got is all his own way.
"There is not much money in football right now. The kind of money we're talking there is probably only Newcastle, Man City and PSG who could sign him. It is a similar situation to [Harry] Kane.
"There is only a finite amount of clubs who could sign a player like Salah. Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus aren't on that level financially anymore.
"I think it is in everybody's best interest that the contract gets sorted quickly.
"He has been unbelievable this season. He's probably playing the best football of his career."
