Adam Bogdan's proposed loan move to Wigan is being held up by the Liverpool goalkeeper's wage demands, according to a report.

The stopper is desperate to move on from Liverpool after a disastrous first season on Merseyside and is being courted by newly promoted Championship side Wigan.

The Daily Mail claim the only thing standing in the way of Bogdan's exit is the 28-year-old's salary expectations.

Bogdan moved to Liverpool from Bolton on a free transfer last summer, but after several high-profile errors as Simon Mignolet's deputy, both club and player are ready to part ways.

Despite the hold up, Liverpool and Wigan are confident a deal can be done for the stopper.

Liverpool have signed Loris Karius to compete with current No.1 Mignolet and Bogdan is not interested in being the Reds' reserve goalkeeper next season.

The man who leapfrogged Bogdan towards the end of last season as Liverpool's No.2, Danny Ward, is expected to go out on loan with Huddersfield to gain further first-team experience.

Liverpool will begin their season preparations against Tranmere on Friday and will fly out to America for a pre-season tour later this month.
