Man United fans have exploded at Noussair Mazraoui after his performance in the Premier League clash with Brighton at Old Trafford.

Ruben Amorim's side fell to a humbling 3-1 defeat at home after goals from Yankuba Minteh and Kaoru Mitoma either side of a Bruno Fernandes penalty, before Georginio Rutter secured all three points for the Seagulls after 76 minutes.

However, the focus of the home crowd's attention was Mazraoui, 27, after he failed to deal with Mitoma's energy and runs in behind and was at fault for two of Brighton's goals.

The first goal of the game saw a long ball catch out the entire defence, with the Japan international running in behind before squaring the ball for Minteh to tap home.

The goalscorer then turned provider for the second, with his cross catching out Mazraoui who could not recover in time to prevent Mitoma tapping the ball home at the back post.

As a result, the home crowd were left fuming at the right-back despite previous high acclaim for his performances since arriving at Old Trafford in the summer.

Mazraoui has been widely praised for his performances this season, stepping up when many others have failed to perform, but is not immune from criticism.

The home crowd have grown frustrated with the way the season has gone so far, and their team have now slid to 13th in the league table after yet another defeat.

Taking to social media during the game, fans fumed at the right-back's performance, labelling him "embarrassing" and "horrible" in heavy criticism.
