Man United owe a staggering £307million in transfer fees following their summer splurge, Football Insider analysis shows.

The Premier League giants have smashed the Premier League record for the total amounts owing in transfer instalments to other clubs.

United owe £306.8m, of which £134m is due to be paid within the next 12 months.

This comes after the club's remarkable summer spending spree, with £218m spent on new players in the three months from 1 July.

This covered the signings of marquee players such as Antony, Casemiro, Lisandro Martinez and Tyrell Malacia.

The club's newly-released quarterly results for the three months ended 30 September 2022 demonstrate the level of the club's debt as the Glazers try to find a buyer.

Section 15 of the accounts reveal the £300m+ owed, as well as how much the transfer debt has increased in the past 12 months.

On 30 September, 2021, United owed £208.3m in transfer instalments.

The new figures show that United’s revenues rose by 13.6 per cent for the quarter and the club is on target to make between £590m and £610m for the whole year.

However, it registered a pre-tax loss of £2.5m-a-week for the first quarter of 2022-23.
