Manchester United expect Nick Powell to leave the club in the summer after his loan move to Hull, Football Insider sources understand.

The 21-year-old playmaker completed a deadline day move to the Championship high flyers on loan until the end of the season.

However, Powell's United contract expires in the summer and a United source has told Football Insider there has been no indication he will be handed an extension.

, and there is a strong possibility he has played his last game for United.

Powell, 21, has had scarce first-team involvement at Old Trafford after making little progress during his three-and-a-half years at the club.

He has made only nine first-team appearances and just two this season, which bizarrely came when he was thrust on as a substitute for Juan Mata when Louis van Gaal's team were chasing late goals against Wolfsburg and Bournemouth in December.
