'Outstanding', 'Machine' - Newcastle fans drool over one player despite loss v Tottenham
Newcastle United fans were left drooling over the performance of Mohamed Diame, even though they saw their side lose 1-0 to Tottenham at Wembley on Wednesday night.
The Magpies were perhaps the better team on the night as Rafa Benitez's men constantly threatened the home side's goal.
However Harry Kane's 50th minute goal was enough to separate the two sides as Tottenham booked their spot in next season's Champions League courtesy of three points against Newcastle and Chelsea failing to beat Huddersfield elsewhere in London.
Newcastle fans were in a buoyant mood despite seeing their side lose in the capital.
Around 3,000 members of the Toon Army made their way down south for the midweek fixtures, and a lot of them were left raving over Diame, who had yet another solid performance.
One delighted Magpies supporter claimed that the midfielder was "outstanding" against Spurs.

Diame has made 32 appearances in all competitions this season for Newcastle and it would be fair to say that he has got better and better every time he has taken to the pitch.
He has scored two goals for the Magpies this term as well, both on the road against West Ham and Crystal Palace.
