Tottenham have been installed odds-on favourites to sign Hull defender Harry Maguire this summer, according to the latest bookmakers' odds.

Sky Bet priced the Premier League flyers at 1/3 on Thursday evening to land the centre-back, who could be available due to his contract situation.

Tottenham are placed ahead of Everton (6/1) in the betting, well ahead of the relatively distant Southampton (14/1) and Arsenal (22/1).

The dramatic change in the odds will mean there has been a wave of bets that Maguire, 24, is heading to White Hart Lane.

Maguire is being eyed by a number of leading Premier League and Championship clubs this summer amid doubts over his future at relegation-threatened Hull.

The Sun report that it could take a fee of £12million to prise the player from Hull, where he has just over a year remaining on his contract.

Maguire has been a mainstay of the relegation strugglers this season, making 34 appearances in all competitions, including 23 Premier League starts.

His contract at Hull expires in the summer of 2018, meaning they could be forced to cash in on him this summer, even if they are successful in avoiding relegation.

Tottenham have the meanest defence in the Premier League this season, due to the solidity of the likes of Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen and Eric Dier.

But there have been widespread reports they are in the market for a new centre-back amid interest from rival clubs in their leading players.
