Pundit Exclusive: Spurs star tipped to join Everton after big reveal - 'Jose's Told Him'

Celtic and West Ham legend Frank McAvennie joined the Football Insider stable in June 2020 and has not disappointed with his own brand of unique punditry. He loves talking football almost as much as he loved scoring goals, and still has close links in the dressing room at Parkhead.

Frank McAvennie has tipped Dele Alli to leave Tottenham in January and would not be surprised if he sealed a "great move" to Everton.

The West Ham and Celtic legend, speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, claimed the Toffees would be a "great team" for the 24-year-old who has been frozen out by Jose Mourinho at Spurs.

All three have lost their places under Jose Mourinho this season and the former two may be keen to exit in search of regular first team football ahead of next summer's European Championship.

McAvennie is unconvinced that the Merseyside club would sign both England internationals and suggested a move for Alli was more likely.

"Would they want to take the two of them? I do not know if they would sign both," he told Football Insider.

"Dele Alli is going to leave as he is not going to get a game at Spurs this season.

"Jose has told him, 'You work your socks off or you are not going to get in this team.'

"You know what you are getting with Mourinho because he tells you. If you are not doing it well, there is nobody bigger than Jose.

"Listen, he has to move and Everton would be a great team for him. I can see it. But Ancelotti will not let him get away with anything there either."
