Bristol City manager Lee Johnson has raved about midfielder Ronaldo Vieira after Leeds United won 3-0 at Ashton Gate on Saturday.

Vieira, 19, was handed his first Championship start of the season by Thomas Christiansen prior to kick-off as the Leeds manager switched up his team following a poor run of form which had seen them lose four of their previous five games.

The Leeds ace put in a brilliant shift in the heart of the midfield, making more passes and having more touches of the ball than any of his team-mates as the United moved up to fourth place in the table with a much-needed win.

After the game, Bristol City boss Johnson was left blown away by Vieira's performance and was quoted by Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Phil Hay on his personal Twitter account as saying that the teenager "ran the show" at Ashton Gate.

Vieira has made just seven appearances across all competitions this season despite being a mainstay of the senior side under Garry Monk's charge last term.

The teenage midfielder has been brilliant in United's Carabao Cup run, scoring once and supplying one assist in his three starts in the competition.

However despite his form away from the league, Christiansen has avoided using him as much in the Championship, but he may be forced to change his mind after Saturday's win.
