Rangers fans think Scott Wright could be set to stay at Ibrox beyond this summer after he scored in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Hamilton Academical.

In a friendly clash played at Rangers' Auchenhowie training centre, the hosts ran out 5-2 winners after goals from Wright, Cyriel Dessers, Ross McCausland, Cole McKinnon and Todd Cantwell.

After the details of the game were shared on social media, fans joked that Wright's goal could see him secure another year in and around the first team.

This comes after reports have claimed Wright could be on his way out of Ibrox soon, with Sheffield Wednesday said to be in talks over a deal.

Wright, 26, has made 117 appearances for Rangers, scoring 12 goals and providing seven assists since arriving from Aberdeen in 2021.

However, this summer was earmarked by many fans as the window in which he would be allowed to leave the club, having never made the desired impact.

After his goal in the behind-closed-doors friendly, many now think he could be set to stay.

However, some supporters insisted he has put himself in the shop window with the goal and should now move on from Ibrox.
